The consequence of the change of magnetic fields on the sun for the solar system

As recently it became known, our Sun will soon change the magnetic poles. But what specific consequences for us is this event?  The process of changing the magnetic poles which are known to occur on the Sun every 11 years will occur in the next 3-4 months.

Although this is not a catastrophic event, the change of the magnetic poles we  feel for yourself.

Astronomers have calculated the ancestors of the Sun

Two astronomers at the Geneva Observatory, and Georges Mathieu Gunel Maine, recently declare that they were able to build out what looked like "ancestors" of our sun. As you know, the birth of stars is in the depth of the gas-dust clouds, "metals" which are the remains of already dead and exploding stars that were ejected into interstellar space and the force of the explosion that ultimately form these same gas and dust clouds.

Probe Voyager-1 crossed the solar system

On the eve of NASA representative’s statement that the spacecraft had afford evidence that the Voyager-1 is crossed the solar system. The intersection of the probe Voyager-1 edge of the solar system was the world and a new level of realization in the study of outer space.

The red giant, to learn the fate of our Sun

In space, astronomers found a red giant, around which formed a three-dimensional spiral out of gas. R Sculptors dying star is 1.5 thousand light-years from Earth. Red giant looked through the telescope ALMA in Chile.

Red giants are the latest stage in the evolution of stars. At this stage the star expand and add to its mass, then the mass of stars scattered into space by stellar winds, spreading the substance of the universe, which is necessary for the formation of new stars. After 10-50 thousand years in the red giant burns helium, which is why there is a powerful release of gas that lasts for hundreds of years?

Opposition of Uranus in 2012

September 29, 2012 the seventh planet from the Sun - Uranus - come into opposition to the Sun. The moment of conflict - the best period of observation of the planet, the minimum distance from the Earth, and hence the appearance size of Uranus, the sky is greatest. Watch Uranus these days you can even to the naked eye as not bright stars on a clear dark country sky, in the absence of illumination from the moon.

The distance from Earth to the Sun, finally identified

How far the Earth is from the Sun? This apparently simple question is actually a matter of dispute scientists for over a hundred years.

How to solve a specific point on the Earth to measure? How to determine what distance from the Sun to calculate - up of vapor or flames?

Analemma Rising Sun with Venus transit

An analemma is shaped curve "8" you get to mark the position of the Sun at the same time every day of the year Earth. In this case, the 17 photographs taken at 02:31 TU between 2 April and 16 September are half the analemma curve. The photos look east, toward the rising sun and the Caspian Sea, from the harbor promenade of Baku in Azerbaijan.

Dates mentioned, covering roughly the period between the equinoxes of 2012 (pictured at right), ie, between March 20 and September 22, match the shots in which the Sun was closer the horizon. The solstice in the northern hemisphere summer, occurred on June 20, corresponds to the upper left of the "8" when the sun was at its maximum declination north.

Loops cold could help solve the mystery of the solar corona

The surface of the Sun is a very cold place. When compare it with the crown, the upper atmosphere of the Sun, which is almost 400 times hotter. This large temperature difference has long been a mystery, but a newly discovered feature in the Sun's magnetic field could help us get to the bottom of it.

The Sun's magnetic field tangled includes huge loops forming an arc from the surface to the crown. We can see the bright loops because the surface plasma flows along its curves.

Mars's dramatic climate variations are driven by the Sun

On Mars's poles there are ice caps of ice and dust layers with that reproduce to past climate variations on Mars. Researchers from the Niels Bohr Institute have related the layers in the ice cap on Mars's north pole to variations in Solar insulation on Mars, the first dated THUS climate Established history for Mars, where ice and dust accumulation has been driven by variations in insulation. The results are published in the scientific journal, Icarus.

Plenty of dark matter near the Sun

Astronomers at the University of Zurich, the ETH Zurich, the University of Leicester and NAOC Beijing have originated large Amounts of invisible "dark matter" near the Sun. Their results are reliable With the Theory That the Milky Way Galaxy is surrounded by a massive "halo" of dark matter, but this is the first study of its kind to use a ridicule method rigorously tested against high quality data from simulations.

The day of the year when the Earth is farther from the Sun

There was the phenomenon known as aphelion , which occurs each year between March and July 5. This means it is the day of the year when the sun is farthest from Earth.

Although visually it is imperceptible, with a special telescope experts can see that the sun looks smaller. Precisely, is 3 percent less than its normal size.

According to experts, the effects of this are changes in the tides and a possible decrease in solar energy , but has no effect on the climate, or severity of the Earth.

A dying star points its gun gamma rays Sun

A star located 7,000 light years from Earth will generate a flow of poisonous gamma rays and is aim it seems that to our solar system, according to a team of physicists and astronomers. Within a few hundred thousand years, in short, as the clocks of cosmologists-Rayet star Wolf 104 (WR104), actually more of a binary system of two stars that revolve around a common center of gravity, will explode violently in a supernova
except it will not do since most huge stars, according to Peter Tut hill, a researcher at the School of Physics, University of Sydney (Australia), published this month in the important Astrophysical Journal work of several years leading a team of researchers.

Comet

Comets are unsteady body, which usually include little not many kilometers in distance. When you are at a great distance from the Sun are down, its small core, which can vary from a few hundred meters to about 10 km. only reflects light. Near the sun the core is surrounded by a "head", the comma, whose diameter can be up to 30,000 km. The coma is composed of gas emerged from the nucleus by sublimation and dust. Its production increases severely as we advance the Sun.

Mercury appears to be less mountainous than the Moon and Mars

According to an article published in the journal Science, Mercury appears to be less mountainous than the Moon and Mars and the bowels of the planet from the Sun, with deep reserves of iron sulfide, are very different from the others in our system. The publication includes two studies from the information sent by the spacecraft "Messenger" a year ago became the first artificial satellite of Mercury and has been making observations of the topography and gravitational field in the northern hemisphere .
