As recently it became known, our Sun will soon change the magnetic poles. But what specific consequences for us is this event?  The process of changing the magnetic poles which are known to occur on the Sun every 11 years will occur in the next 3-4 months.

A new technique to explore the atmospheres of planets outside our solar system


'Tau Bootis b' was one of the first exoplanets discovered in the 90's. Fifteen years later, remains one of the closest known and given that it already has confirmed the existence of 750 planets outside our solar system, which number about 2,000 applicants to join the list.
'Tau Bootis b' is a big 'hot Jupiter' orbiting close to its host star. Although its host star is easily visible, so far this planet could only be detected by its gravitational effects on the star.

The largest solar telescope in Europe

Appointment the photo gallery of Northern Lights, name is Gregor and there is just been installed at the Observatorio del Teide of the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC). Has an aperture of 1.5 meters, which together with the new adaptive optics system that compensates for atmospheric turbulence, achieves picture quality that, until now, no solar telescope had gained ground, both in the visible range and in the infrared.

A strange hot spot on a planet from outside our solar system


The Spitzer Space Telescope NASA has exposed a strange point of heat in a planet outside our solar system in the Andromeda group, 44 light years from the Earth. The planet, Upsilon Andromeda, is a massive such as 'hot Jupiters', named for its high temperatures and gas formation. The strange thing, the mystery that scientists cannot manage to explain, is that this extraordinary heat zone is located in a part of the planet in which there should be, away from exposure to the star, which contradicts all theories known.

In the solar system shown a new planet


Exposed a new category of planets appear to suggest alone in space. This is called roaming worlds, which, far from any star, wandering through interstellar space after being ejected from planetary systems in which they formed. Now, new research from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics suggests that these worlds’ nomads can find a new home with a different sun. He even claims that billions of stars in our galaxy may have caught wandering planets. This finding, which will be published in the journal Astrophysical Journal, could explain the existence of planets orbiting some surprisingly far from their stars, and even the existence of a double planet.

Our solar system is not protected from the rest of the galaxy. Why?

Mechanism of Solar Panels Spitzer


Mechanism of Solar Panels Spitzer is designed to provide electrical power required to operate Spitzer to 5 years. Installation of Solar Panels is made of 2 panels, each of which has 392 solar cells. Each solar cell is 5.5 cm by 6.5 cm area. Together, these cells convert the radiation from the Sun in a total of 427 watts (Watts) of electricity. Spitzer cannot point to more than 120 degrees from the direction of the Sun If so, sunlight will not hit the solar panels properly.

In 2013 The Earth would be face a Solar Tsunami


An expert Scientist says, “We should prepare for a space storm does not look like a thousand years,". The world is increasingly dependent on electricity, therefore, more vulnerable.The current cycle of the star storms would peak next year. On April 16, the sun emitted a "bubble" the size of Jupiter, another sign of increased violent activity, whose peak is in 2013, hence the solar tsunami forecasts. Experts say that we are not prepared for the damage they cause.

The history of the solar storm


A geomagnetic storm turn off the electricity grid in most of Quebec,in march 1989.At that time,  millions of Canadians was leaving without power for hours.In March 1989,The NASA reports,in January 1994 the communications satellite 290 million Anik E2   Canada, was shat down by a solar storm, and took six  months and $ 50-70 million put back into operation.One of the most dangerous contributors to solar storms is a coronal mass ejection (CME), a great cloud of charged particles belched from the sun and sailing through space at supersonic speeds.

What is expected for 2012?

Following the September 2005 eruptions, solar scientists estimated that the next solar cycle, would start in 2007, later than expected, it would be 30-50% stronger than the former (which itself was a record), and reach its climax in 2012 ...

Some believe that the violent activity of the Sun in 2012 will cause even a Terrestrial Pole Shift. Patrick Gerald, in his book "The World Cataclysm in 2012" put it this way:

What is a solar storm?


The Solar storm is a temporary disruption of the Earth's magnetosphere. Associated with a coronal mass ejection (CME), a coronal hole or a solar flare is a shock wave incoming solar wind between 24 and 36 hours after the event. This only happens if the shock wave travels toward Earth. The solar wind pressure on the magnetosphere will increase or decrease depending on solar activity. The solar wind pressure changes the electrical currents in the ionosphere. Magnetic storms last 24 to 48 hours, but can last for several days.

STORM RADIATION EARTH SHAKING


The strong solar radiation storm is already impacting the Earth and it is believed that could affect power lines, satellite navigation systems and air routes. The phenomenon originated from two large solar flares that occurred earlier this week. And the storm will impact particularly in the areas near the poles, so that many airline pilots are advised to change their routes to avoid these areas. But there is a high probability of seeing aurora Boreas and Australia in these regions, if the sky is clear.
Joseph Hunches, an expert on the U.S. government weather agency   for its acronym in English, described the storm as the solar version of Super Tuesday, referring to the Republican primary that took place in ten states.
