Astronomers have found a planet self-possessed of diamonds

Astronomers said they found in the group of Cancer the planet, which is a treasure trove.

"According to experts, the celestial body, called 55 Chancre, is located at a distance of about 40 light-years from Earth; its diameter is greater than the earth twice, and weight - eight times. But the main sensation is that super-Earths are not covered water or, for example, the granite, and the layers of graphite and diamond, "- says the source.

The planet also has an iron core, and in the interior, in addition to diamonds are carbon, silicon carbide and various silicates. One of the authors of the project - a researcher at Yale University Nikki Madhusudhan - noted that most of the diamonds on 55 Chancre similar to Earth, but there may be more liquid and diamonds.
